True Classics: Triumph Tigress

The Triumph Tigress and the BSA Sunbeam one in the same. The English scooter was designed for motorcyle enthusiast by Edward Turner in 1958. BSA group was the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer at the time and had acquired Triumph in 1951. They sold the scooter under both brand names to take advantage of established distribution networks. The differences between the BSA Sunbeam and Triumph Tigress were entirely cosmetic. The Sunbeam in polychromatic green paint, or a two-tone red and cream with a BSA badge. The Tigress in a shell blue with Triumph badging. The scooter was available with a 250 cc four-stroke twin or 175 cc two-stroke single-cylinder engine, both engines were forced-air cooled. Production of the 250 ended in 1964 and the 175 in 1965...
